# Password reset and recovery

> Reset a forgotten password using the forgot-password and reset-password flows.

## Start from the login page

1. On the login screen, click **Forgot password?**. That opens the **forgot password** page.
2. Enter the **email** for your account.
3. Submit the form.

You should see a confirmation that a message was sent, if the address is valid. For security, many products do not say whether an email exists in the system.

## Open the link in the email

Check your inbox for a message from your sign-in provider. Click the **reset link**. It should take you to the **reset password** page in the dashboard.

Complete the new password fields and save. Then sign in with the new password.

## If you do not get an email

* Check spam or junk folders.
* Wait a few minutes and try **Forgot password?** once more.
* Confirm you used the same email your administrator invited.
* Ask a workspace administrator or Arterial support if your mailbox blocks automated mail.

## After you reset

Sign out of other browsers or devices if you no longer trust them. Turn on [MFA](/account/mfa) if your organization recommends it.
